‘Reading’ Dogs

Bringing trained/vetted dogs into schools to act as companions for students to read to is an increasingly popular way of developing a calm and non-judgmental environment in which to promote learning and literacy, as well as positive behaviour and wellbeing. This week we were very pleased to welcome Keira and Kesha, 6 year-old Hungarian Vizslas, into the Library to spend some time with our students. They proved so popular that we are hoping ‘reading' dogs will become a regular part of school life!
