Holby City Star works with Attleborough Academy Students
Attleborough Academy were delighted to welcome former student, and successful actor, Nic Jackman, who generously gave up his time to come into the Academy to work with the students and share his knowledge and experiences..Nic who was a student at the school from Year 7 through to when he completed Sixth Form in 2010, has achieved great success as an actor in the intervening years; last year he joined the cast of the television show Holby City.
After completing his A Levels at Attleborough Sixth Form in English Literature, Drama, Business Studies and Critical Thinking, Nic trained at the world renowned Drama school L.A.M.D.A, and completed a BA Hons in Acting. During his final year there he received many plaudits including the award for ‘Technical Sword Skills’ for his excellence in stage combat. From L.A.M.D.A Nic acquired a role in the Norfolk focussed Arnold Wesker drama ‘Roots’ at the prestigious Donmar Warehouse as well as starring alongside Adrian Lester in ‘Red Velvet’ at the Tricycle theatre. This production was transferred to Broadway and Nic enjoyed a very successful run at the St Ann’s Warehouse in New York. After many further roles that have met with acclaim, Nic joined the cast of Holby City last year. He currently appears in the role of Cameron, son of Bernie Wolfe in the long running medical drama that airs on Tuesday evenings 8.00 on BBC1.
During this daytime visit to Attleborough Academy Nic first spoke to a class of Year 7 English students and then ran a session for the Year 12 Drama group.
Nic commented on his visit: “It is so exciting to be back and sharing my professional experiences with the students. I hope it will give them the confidence to be ambitious and work hard towards their goals! "
