The ten Year 13 students who have the honour of being appointed Attleborough Academy Sixth Form Presidents for 2017-2018 were congratulated by Principal, Mr McShane when they met with him to be awarded their blue President lanyards.
The Presidential Team work across the Sixth Form to represent the views of all students, and are responsible for organising events, and charity fundraising, both for the Sixth Form and, at times, across the entire academy.
Everyone in the team has a role that is tailored to them and their individual strengths. These roles range from charity organisers and sports event leader, to finance coordinator. They also undertake midday supervisor duties across the year, through which they gain further experience by undertaking a position of authority and support for younger students. One of the many charity related activities the team has been involved in is the Attleborough Academy Sports’ Day when the team ran refreshments and additional events which raised £580 for The Teenage Cancer Trust. Their weekly meetings as a presidential team also help them to plan for new ways that they can make sixth form the best experience possible and also help us to support younger students and local and national charities.
