Marines visit AAN

21st June 2016

A brave and determined group of year 9 and 10 students spent the morning training with two Royal Marines Commandos as part of our Careers Advice and guidance programme.  The Commandos gave the students a presentation on life in the Marines, how to be a successful applicant to the Marines and the many career opportunities available before taking the students outside to give them a vigorous 2 hour training session.  The students showed exceptional determination and courage as they were pushed to their limits during the session culminating with a team race and an unexpected cold shower.  At the end of the session the students were extremely proud of their achievements and motivated by the idea of a potential career in the forces.  The Academy was very impressed with their determination and also wish best of luck to year 11 leaver Aaron Perry who plans to join the Marines this summer!.
